The private sector industry association known as the Bahamas Hotel Association (BHA) will mark its 60th anniversary this week with a celebration ball November 30 at Atlantis Paradise Island.

Prime Minister Perry Christie and Minister of Tourism Obie Wilchcombe will be among the attendees.

The exclusion of Bahamians from casino gambling will be considered by the Constitution Reform Commission, chairman Sean McWeeney confirmed.

The Commission continued its sessions at the end of last week.

Members of the Commission are Rubie Nottage, Mark Wilson, Carl Bethel, Lester Mortimer, Tara Cooper-Burnside, Michael Stevenson, Lydia Saunders, Michael Albury, Chandra Sands, Brandis Duncanson, Carla Brown-Roker, and Lauren Klein.

Carnival donates to Florida charity at Thanksgiving

To celebrate Thanksgiving and the arrival of its newest cruise ship, Carnival Breeze, to Miami, Carnival Cruise Lines is donating 137,500 meals to the Feeding South Florida charity and erecting a 50-foot-tall inflatable turkey atop the ship. Carnival has three ports of call in The Bahamas and another within the archipelago at Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos. Happy Thanksgiving.

MIAMI, Nov. 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — To celebrate Thanksgiving and the arrival of its newest cruise ship, Carnival Breeze, to Miami, Carnival Cruise Lines is donating 137,500 meals to Feeding South Florida and erecting a 50-foot-tall inflatable turkey atop the ship.

The 1,250-pound nylon turkey — wearing a straw beach hat and colorful Hawaiian shirt — is scheduled to be displayed on Wednesday, Nov. 21, in time for holiday festivities. The giant fowl will sit 14 stories above the waterline and gaze toward nearby McArthur Causeway until just before the ship makes its inaugural sailing from Miami on Thanksgiving Day.
