The Summer Travel Season has officially arrived and many individuals are starting to plan their getaway for June, July, and August of 2013. These summer months are one of the heaviest travel periods with activities and deals taking place all over the country as well as internationally. The ideal trip depends on the type of traveler and the type of experience that you are seeking. Whether traveling as a couple, with friends, or with children, the vacation options are endless. Travel Insured International provides the top domestic and international destinations to travel to during the Summer 2013 season.

Top Domestic Travel Destinations:
Orlando, Florida – Orlando is one of the biggest trending cities to visit during Summer 2013. Orlando is filled with a mix of legendary theme parks, water parks, museums, attractions, restaurants, as well as entertainment and nightlife options for adults. Orlando is home to some of the most well-known adventure parks including, Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and several others. By purchasing a travel package to Orlando, this location is one that many choose when trying to stick to a budget as travelers can often book an entire trip for less than $1,000 per traveler.

Chicago, Illinois – While many individuals may not think of Chicago as a destination to plan a summer vacation, the city is perfect for a getaway. Chicago is home to beautiful lakeshore beaches, restaurant patios, fireworks from the pier, excellent shopping, and five star dining. Chicago is not only beautiful and full of summer activity options, but is one of the most wallet friendly vacations. Since it is not located on the East or West coast, the destination tends to get a larger population of domestic tourists, leaving greater deals available and more flexible vacation times available because they are less crowded.

Las Vegas, Nevada – Las Vegas is one still one of the most popular destinations travelers opt for when planning a summer vacation. Las Vegas is best known for its lavish hotel casinos, unbelievable entertainment, extensive buffets, upscale shopping, pool parties, and exciting nightlife. This year, with the many Las Vegas coupons and packages available, travelers save money on a Vegas vacation without sacrificing any fun during the summer months.

Top International Travel Destinations:
Cancun, Mexico – Cancun continues to be at the top of the list for international destinations to visit during summer 2013. Other than beautiful beaches, resorts, and hotels, Cancun is home to many food and wine festivals, entertainment venues, and 5 star rated dining and restaurants. With the city’s popularity booming, it is now easier for travelers to reach Cancun, thanks to the addition of new flights from major cities around the world, such as New Orleans, Louisiana and Chicago, Illinois that were not previously offered.

Nassau, Bahamas – The perfect combination of a big city mixed with tropical paradise has landed Nassau as one the hot spots for the summer travel season. Nassau, the capital of The Bahamas, offers both cultural and modern amenities including hotels, resorts, fine dining, shops, nightlife, a beautiful golf course, casino, famous aquarium, and many historical heritage sites. It is also known for the friendliest service, fewer crowds and the perfect place for both adventure and relaxation.

Montego Bay, Jamaica – Jamaica is the perfect place for travelers who are looking for a laid back, fewer tourists like atmosphere. Montego Bay is full of public beaches, local cuisine, swimming holes, shark diving, and boat rides. This location can be budget friendly with many options for low priced hotels and smaller, independent beach front cottages. Flights are also often available for less than $500 per traveler.

Travel Insured International reminds travelers who plan to get away during the Summer 2013 Travel Season to invest in the right insurance policy before traveling. It only takes one uninsured travel risk, arriving without expectation to destroy a dream trip, or worse, incur uncovered emergency medical costs. Prepared travelers will plan ahead with the policy which first their coverage need best in order to protect their travel investments during the 2013 Summer travel season.

In May, a validation meeting was convened in Nassau, The Bahamas, at which the non-state stakeholders met with national authorities to discuss the last details for national implementation plan for the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) with the European union (EU). The meeting was considered as a crucial step in the finalization of that plan, reports the CTA website.

Embrace Resort, a seven villa sustainable resort opening in Staniel Cay, Exuma, due to open next month, announced at the beginning of the week that it has entered The Exuma Cays into VirtualTourist.com’s quest to crown the “8th Wonder of the World.”
