The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas Fred Mitchell has congratulated Jamaica on the conduct of peaceful and orderly general elections held 25 February, 2016, resulting in a successful win for Prime Minister, Andrew Holness.


Fred MitchellIn an official statement released by the Bahamas Information Services, Mitchell said: “The Bahamas looks forward to working with the new Prime Minister and his administration and continuing to build on the strong relationship of which our two nations currently share. Congratulations and best wishes to Jamaica and its newly elected government.”

Chairman of the Hawksbill Creek Agreement Review Committee Dr Marcus Bethel has suggested that the government would make a determination on the Hawksbill Creek Agreement's expiring tax concessions within the next three months.
