The Ministry of Finance has made the move towards greener transportation by leasing eight zero-emission, 100 per cent electric Nissan LEAFs.

The move demonstrates The Bahamas government’s continued progress towards reducing its reliance on fossil fuels, similar to public energy initiatives in Barbados and other countries throughout the Caribbean region.

Switching to electric vehicles not only results in savings on fuel and maintenance costs, but also improves the bottom line of the national budget to the benefit of all taxpayers.

To date, The Bahamas Cabinet Office, Department of Inland Revenue, Civil Aviation, and Social Services have switched to electric vehicles, bringing The Bahamas in step with the growing trend of greener transportation around the world and helping to align the nation with our 2030 energy policy goals.

Scientific Games Corporation today announced new agreements to provide an expansive range of casino systems solutions, table products, games and platforms at Baha Mar Casino in Nassau, which held its soft opening on April 21, 2017.

Jo-Anne Stephens, an associate at Bahamian corporate and commercial law firm Higgs & Johnson, has been awarded the Society of Trust & Estate Professionals’ Student Award.
