The vendors are benefitting from the Montagu Foreshore Redevelopment Project, a partnership between the Bahamas government and Kerzner International which includes a paved parking area, a boat ramp, vending stalls, public parking and trailer spaces along with restroom facilities. A recently paved parking area for customers who patronise fish, fruit and vegetable vendors at Montagu. A joint project of the government and Kerzner International provides 20 public parking spaces and 14 boat trailer spaces along with a new entry and exit. (BIS Photo/Letisha Henderson)

Two toilet blocks are under construction at the east and west ends of Montagu. The restroom facilities are a part of the Montagu Foreshore Redevelopment Project sponsored by Kerzner International and the Bahamas government. The top layer of asphalt on this section of the Eastern Road near Blair Estates has been removed and a new layer asphalt surface will replace it soon. Intersection improvements are being carried out in this area and at the intersection of the Eastern and Johnson Roads that will provide a third lane for motorists.
