The Ministry of Tourism recently teamed up with Sandals Resort and the Association of Bridal Consultants to host more than 70 destination wedding planners from throughout the United States.
The delegation assembled at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort in Nassau for a four day wedding conclave and the unveiling of Sandals’ new ‘Aisle to Isle’ wedding program.
The initiative was a collaboration of Sandals Resort International, the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC), Unique Vacations and The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation.
The four-day immersive event, deemed the Wedding Event of the Year, was open to ABC destination wedding planners only and included workshops on marketing, the Bahamas wedding and honeymoon product and destination experiences.
In addition to intense educational training and enjoying the amenities of Sandals’ luxurious all- inclusive resort, the group also participated in a city tour, 5-Star gourmet dining, cocktail receptions, a catamaran harbor cruise and an authentic, surprise full wedding renewal ceremony for two ABC members who experienced, first-hand, Sandals’ magical weddings and the pulsating Junkanoo culture of The Bahamas.
Sandals’ new ‘Aisle to Isle’ program was designed in response to a proprietary study, which revealed that millennial brides and grooms seek inspiration and information above all else when planning their wedding celebration. The creation of the ‘Aisle to Isle’ program features inspiration from décor and venues to food and beverage and provide brides with endless wedding choices.
Sandals, the world’s leading couples only resort has three hotel properties in The Bahamas: Sandals Royal Bahamian in Nassau, Sandals Emerald Bay in Georgetown, Exuma and the newest luxury and ultra private Fowl Cay Resort in Fowl Cay, Exuma.
The Association of Bridal Consultants is the largest association of professional wedding planners in the world, with 4,000 members throughout North America and 30 countries worldwide.
