Ultrapetrol (Bahamas) Limited (ULTR) was among the biggest gainers on the Russell 2000 for Wednesday August 31 as the stock popped 6.34% to $0.35, representing a gain of $0.021 per share. Some 90,564 shares traded hands on 210 trades, compared with an average daily volume of 566,412 shares out of a total float of 140.73 million. The stock opened at $0.34 and traded with an intraday range of $0.37 to $0.33.


After the gains, Ultrapetrol (Bahamas) Limited reached a market cap of $49.54 million. Ultrapetrol (Bahamas) Limited has had a trading range between $0.82 and $0.05 over the last year, and it had a 50-day SMA of $0.34 and a 200-day SMA of $0.27.

C&W Communications has reached an agreement with Ericsson and Cisco to supply and install IP networks in three of the service provider's Caribbean markets, according to industry website Lightwave Online. Under the terms of the agreement, the technology suppliers will assist in the upgrade of C&W's IP backbone network in The Bahamas.
