Paradise Island targets summer visitors

Nassau Paradise Island is welcoming summer travellers with an array of new services and experiences designed to enhance visitors' vacations. Known for its powder white sand beaches and clear turquoise waters, the island is upping the ante with a new hotel opening, new nonstop flights, local authentic cooking classes, kid-friendly events and more.

Adults-Only, All-Inclusive Warwick Hotel Coming to Paradise Island
This October, Warwick Hotels and Resorts is introducing its newest four-star hotel to Paradise Island. Set along the Nassau Harbour, the resort will feature 250 guest rooms, which have touches of local craftsmanship throughout 12 floors. One of the most noteworthy aspects of the 28 million dollar hotel is its 6,000 square foot terrace, which will overlook the marinas across the harbour. The new resort, named  Warwick Paradise Island Bahamas, will welcome guests 18 and older with all-inclusive rates that include meals and snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, standard Wi-Fi, daily activities, nightly entertainment, use of fitness center, and gratuities, taxes, surcharges and 7.5% Value Added Tax. Only a 10-minute walk from the famous Cabbage Beach, the resort also has great on-site offerings, including three restaurants, a poolside pizzeria and grille, a beach bar, a lobby bar and more. The hotel is currently offering an “Early Bird Savings” promotion, where guests who book by July 31, 2016 will receive 30 percent or more off bookings. Tru Bahamian Food Tours Launches Cooking Class with the Graycliff
Tru Bahamian Food Tours has partnered with the Graycliff Hotel to launch the new “Authentic Bahamian Cooking Class & Lunch Experience.” The class offers chef-guided, behind-the-scenes food preparation followed by an authentic Bahamian feast at the 5-star Graycliff Hotel & Restaurant in downtown Nassau. Included with the cooking course is a welcome treat and refreshment, a three-course meal featuring local delicacies including conch chowder and snapper, wine, a private tour of Graycliff legendary wine cellar, signature recipes and an “Insider’s Guide to Eating in Nassau” to take home. Atlantis, Paradise Island Partners with Cartoon Network; Launches New Mobile Application; Opens New Restaurant

  • New Partnership: Atlantis Resort and Cartoon Network have launched a new partnership to provide activities and programming for families, including a new land-based, Cartoon Network-themed inflatable obstacle course, where guests can experience a We Bare Bears climbing wall and zip line course, a Powerpuff Girls-themed zig-zag maze and slide, a Nerf Super Soaker Flood Zone and more. Children can also take part in themed activities and culinary programs at Atlantis Kids Adventure (AKA) and attend Splash Screenings of their favorite Cartoon Network shows in the evenings.   • New Mobile App: Also new for summer is a dedicated mobile application, Atlantis. The mobile app is designed to provide travelers with the ability to navigate their booking details easily and provide relevant information throughout all stages of the trip, serving as a mobile concierge.   • New Restaurant: The Village Burger Shack located in Marina Village opened June 6 and is a family-friendly, casual dining experience with indoor and alfresco seating. The menu offers a selection of gourmet burgers, fresh fish, vegetarian dishes and salads, an extensive list of sides, and unique shake combinations. New Non-Stop JetBlue Flights To Nassau Paradise Island
Beginning August 1, 2016, JetBlue Airlines will expand its nonstop flights from FLL to NAS from three to five flights per day. The increased airlift allows travelers to maximize their time in the destination, with the first flight of the day departing FLL at 7:52 a.m., having guests on the ground before 9:00 a.m. The last flight of the day will depart FLL at 4:25 p.m., getting passengers to the island with time to relax before experiencing dinner and the famed Bahamian sunsets. Once in Nassau, flights depart back to FLL throughout the day with the last flight departing at 6:30 p.m., allowing for a full “final” vacation day in the sun. In addition, other airlines offering non-stop service include American Eagle, AirTran, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, Bahamasair, JetBlue, Silver Airways, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines and U.S. Airways. Fred Mitchell, the Foreign Minister, is leading the delegation for The Bahamas, representing the Prime Minister, at the commissioning ceremony for the expansion of the Panama Canal in Panama City this week.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has congratulated Bahamian Buddy Hield for joining the National Basketball Association (NBA) through being selected by the New Orleans Pelicans.
