CHICAGO, May 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Morton Salt, Inc. announced today that Matt Beliveau has joined the company as Vice President, Human Resources.  In this key role, Beliveau is responsible for leading Morton Salt’s Human Resources function and staff across all company operations in the U.S., Canada and the Bahamas.  Beliveau reports to Chief Executive Officer Christian Herrmann and serves as a member of the company’s executive leadership team.

Beliveau joins Morton Salt from General Mills, where he spent more than a decade in human resources.  His career at General Mills started in 2001 as an associate human resources manager based at one of the company’s major production facilities in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  He then went on to hold various human resources positions of increasing responsibility and supported key functions and operations across the company.

Most recently, Beliveau served as the Human Resources Director for the company’s Big G Cereals and Yoplait Yogurt Strategic Business Units.  In this capacity, he was responsible for several key focus areas including leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and compensation strategy.  While at General Mills, he also served as a brand manager in the Cereals Division for one year.

Prior to General Mills, Beliveau served as an officer in the U.S. Army and achieved the rank of Captain.  During the course of his 4-year military career, he led various teams and missions in the U.S. and Europe.

“Matt is an accomplished human resources leader and his strong experience in the consumer packaged goods industry will be invaluable at Morton Salt given our focus on driving a high performance culture as part of our long-term business strategy,” Herrmann said.

Beliveau earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.  He holds an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.

Beliveau is actively involved in American Corporate Partners as a mentor for veterans transitioning from military service to the civilian workforce.  Additionally, he has been an alumni interviewer for the University of Pennsylvania’s undergraduate admissions process for over a decade.

Last year, Morton Salt appointed several new leaders to its executive team through internal promotions.  Those leaders are: Dan Thompson, Vice President, Bulk Deicing; Jim Vincent, Vice President, Operations; and Shayn Wallace, Vice President, Consumer and Industrial Sales & Marketing.

Morton Salt’s executive team also includes:  Mary Doohan, Vice President & General Counsel and Andy Kotlarz, Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, both of whom have spent more than 20 years with Morton Salt; and Betsey Nohe, Vice President, Supply Chain, who joined the company in 2011.

With the addition of Beliveau as Morton Salt’s Vice President, Human Resources, the company has completed its new executive leadership team. Together, the team will focus on driving Morton’s long-term business strategy and the full range of growth, efficiency and cultural priorities that support it.
