A panel of travel professionals has recognized the locally produced Baha Mar Dream Team campaign as the gold winner of Travel Weekly magazine’s Magellan Award, beating international competition in the Hotels and Resorts category.

The Baha Mar Dream Team multi-media campaign involved press releases, interviews and videos featuring some of the key personnel on the multi-billion dollar resort’s staff.

“Magellan Award winners are not just the most talented and creative people in the travel industry–they are among the most creative and talented of any industry,” said Arnie Weissmann, editor in chief of Travel Weekly.

“Baha Mar has done what no one has ever done before,” said Obie Wilchcombe, Minister of Tourism. “This campaign shows the world that we are passionate about sharing our culture and that we are capable of being the best in the hospitality industry.”

The phase five expansion of the Freeport Container Port is "imminent," according to vice chairman of the Grand Bahama Port Authority Sarah St George.

Investment group TXO (LON:TXO) has increased its stake in one of the companies redeveloping Freeport in Grand Bahama. TXO now owns 35.7 per cent of Grand Bahama Group following the acquisition of a further 100 shares for £700,000 ($1.2 million).
