Prime Minister Christie’s Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) beat the Free National Movement (FNM) in the general elections held May 7 and he retained his seat as the Member of Parliament for Centreville, formerly the Farm Road Constituency.
Christie previously served as Prime Minister and Minister of Finance 2002-2007.
The first ministerial appointments will be announced May 9, with the Cabinet fully assembled by May 11, the Prime Minister said.
“My transition team headed by the former Attorney General Sean McWeeney, QC, is already hard at work and I propose to appoint Wendell Major CMG, later today, as the new Acting Cabinet Secretary,” he said.
