On a year-over-year basis, the partnership's bottom line was diluted due to new units and higher total costs and expenses including the BORCO storage expansion project on Grand Bahama, which is on schedule for completion.

December 16, 2013 (Zacks.com)–Buckeye Partners L.P.’s earnings per unit in third-quarter 2013 lagged the Zacks Consensus Estimate, while revenues beat the same. On a year-over-year basis, the partnership’s bottom line was diluted due to issue of new units and higher total costs and expenses.

Quarterly revenues improved from the prior-year level mainly on the back of higher contribution from Pipeline & Terminal, Energy Services and International Operations. The partnership’s Perth Amboy terminal project and Chicago storage facility secured lucrative long-term contracts.

The Bahamas Financial Services Board (BFSB), in collaboration with the Ministry of Financial Services, the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (SCB), and corporate sponsor Ernst Young (EY) will host a half-day seminar on the European Union’s Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) January 13, 2014.

The event will be held at the British Colonial Hilton Hotel in downtown Nassau, starting at 10:00 am.

AIFMD entered into force on July 22, 2013 and regulates EU fund managers that manage alternative investment funds (AIFs), as well as fund managers (wherever they are based) that manage AIFs established in the EU and those fund managers (wherever they are based) that market the units or shares of an AIF in the EU.

Early indications are that domestic economic conditions were relatively subdued in October, amid a lacklustre tourism performance, although foreign investment-led construction activity continued to secure a modest growth outcome. Price developments were relatively benign, as average domestic energy costs decreased over the review month. On the fiscal side, the overall deficit narrowed during the first quarter of FY2013/14, owing to a combination of higher revenue collections and reduced expenditure. In the monetary sector, both bank liquidity and external reserves expanded, primarily reflecting Government’s external borrowing activities.

Caribbean ExportBridgetown, Barbados–The Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) in collaboration with the government of Barbados convened a meeting on the financial services sector in CARIFORUM at the Radisson Hotel, Barbados on December 9, 2013.

The meeting of Ministers with responsibility for financial services and key industry professionals was assembled to develop the strategic direction relating to the continued development of the industry, to develop recommendations relating to the governance structure of the regional initiative, and to determine the strategic engagement of the overseas countries and territories in the overall process.
