Film festival fundraiser with a twist

The Bahamas International Film Festival non-profit organization will host the biannual fundraiser Big Screen Art Scene September 1, where 50 attendees will receive a mystery work of art.

The Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) non-profit organization will host the biannual fundraiser Big Screen Art Scene September 1 to raise money for the annual movie event to be held in December.

This spectacular event will be held on board the 135 ft Carrousel Yacht and offers art lovers and investors an opportunity to mix and mingle with a wide variety of local artists.


Images of the artists’ work will be projected on a giant screen throughout the event.

Adding an element of surprise to the fundraising auction, attendees will be able to purchase one of 50 “Collector” tickets priced at $400. A total of 50 artists will donate work in a variety of mediums, objects, styles or services. Each “Collector” will receive one of the donated works through a lottery system.

Guest tickets are also available for $100, which entitle the ticket holder to attend the event, take part in the festivities, but not they do not receive a work of art.

Cloud Carib, a Citrix certified solution advisor in The Bahamas, recently hosted a networking event and presentation in Nassau to demonstrate the latest executive mobility solutions offered jointly by Cloud Carib and Citrix Systems.

Standard & Poor's has raised its short-term foreign currency sovereign credit rating on The Bahamas to A-2 from A-3 due to revision of criteria.
