The Central Bank of The Bahamas has released its Monthly Economic and Financial Development Report for June.

According to the preliminary data, the modest-paced improvement in the domestic economy was sustained over the review period, with tourism sector output remaining buoyant, as evidenced by the continued record growth in high value-added stopover arrivals.

BISXThe Bahamas International Securities Exchange (BISX) is pleased to announce that The Central Bank of The Bahamas (the “Central Bank”) has become a BISX Broker-Dealer Member. The Central Bank will become the seventh BISX Broker-Dealer Member.

The Central Bank’s addition as a BISX Broker-Dealer Member is unique in that it is not becoming a Member for the purposes of transacting securities for individual investors. Rather the Central Bank’s purpose as a Member is a part of the broader initiative to list Bahamas Registered Stock (BRS), issued by the Government of The Bahamas (“the Government’), on BISX.

Government to launch e-Cabinet modernization programme

The government will embark on an e-Cabinet programme aimed at increasing the efficiency in the public service, Prime Minister Dr Hubert Minnis has announced.

He was addressing the Caribbean Public Services Associations 49th Annual Conference held Sunday, July 21, 2019 at SuperClubs Breezes on Cable Beach.

In welcoming Caribbean delegates to the occasion, the Prime Minister also shared his government’s plans towards a more modern and efficient public service.

“The great contemporary challenge for governments and public officers in our region is the promotion of 21st Century governance.”
