Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Perry Christie welcomed international election observers to The Bahamas during a courtesy call at the Office of the Prime Minister May 8, 2017, ahead of the General Election later this week.

The election observer missions are from the Commonwealth, The Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the Organization of American States, and the US, and are in the country for the May 10, 2017 General Election.

This is the second time that observer teams were invited to The Bahamas for the general elections, with the first being the 2012 General Election.

Securities Commission of The Bahamas has been reappointed to as the chair of the Caribbean Group of Securities Regulators.

Bahamas International Securities Exchange has announced its BISX All-Share Index and trading statistics for the three-month period ending March 31, 2017, with comparison to the same period of 2016.
