Free National Movement Members of Parliament forming the new government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas were sworn in as Cabinet Ministers by Governor General Dame Marguerite Pindling at Government House May 15, 2017.

Peter Turnquest was named Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Brent Symonette takes on the post of Minister of Financial Services, Trade and Industry and Immigration.

Peter Turnquest was appointed Minister of Finance and Carl Bethel named Attorney General by Governor General Dame Marguerite Pindling during ceremonies at Government House May 12, 2017. Turnquest will serve as Deputy Prime Minister in the new Free National Movement Cabinet.

In a letter of congratulations, CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque said he is looking forward to an early briefing with new Prime Minister of The Bahamas Dr Hubert Minnis on matters relating to the Caribbean Community and the tourism industry.
