Trans Island Airways secures US exemption authority

Trans Island Airways (Nassau International) has been granted exemption authority by the US Department of Transportation to run chartered passenger and cargo flights between The Bahamas and the US.

November 14/16 (ch-aviation) – Trans Island Airways (Nassau Int’l) has been granted exemption authority by the US Department of Transportation (DOT) to run chartered passenger and cargo flights between the Bahamas and the United States.

In its original application, the Bahamian charter specialist said it planned to use its fleet of one Cessna 560 Citation, two Cessna (twin piston) 402Cs, and one Learjet 60 to serve several unspecified destinations in Florida.

Minister of Financial Services Hope Strachan met with officials of the International Trade Centre, a specialized joint agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations, November 8, 2016 to discuss the development of a trade information service desk and electronic portal for The Bahamas.
