Minister of State for Investments Khaalis Rolle will travel to Los Angeles, California, January 21-24 where he will participate in the America’s Lodging and Investment Summit (ALIS) International Opportunities Showcase. About 1,800 attendees are expected at the annual national investment conference, which attracts investors, hedge fund managers, hotel operators, and financiers.

“This is one of the big two summits that takes place for this industry in investments in the United States,” said Rolle. “The other one is in New York. We’ve been given the privilege of participating on a panel that specifically speaks about investment opportunities in the country.”

Minister Rolle will be part of a panel session, which includes representatives from Scotland, Argentina and Australia, and will present two projects, inviting people to come to The Bahamas to look at associated investment opportunities.

The event will give The Bahamas the opportunity to reach the hotel and tourism investment community.

Minister Rolle will give a five-minute PowerPoint presentation about the benefits of investing in The Bahamas and then a three-minute presentation.

Among the audience will be representatives of the Amazing Race reality television show and the session will give The Bahamas the opportunity to showcase the nation’s suitability to be included in one of the episodes. In the TV programme, teams compete in a race around the world, taking in various locations.

“[The Amazing Race producers] are being honoured by the Association that’s putting on this conference and the opportunity that they are giving us, amongst other countries, is to invite the Amazing Race to shoot one of their episodes or one of their seasons in The Bahamas,” said Rolle. “Hopefully, I’m convincing enough that they would take us up on that offer and come and shoot one of their seasons in The Bahamas.”

The islands of The Bahamas will promote the destination in a new, star-studded, multi-million dollar advertising campaign designed to showcase some of the archipelago's most compelling features.

Dean's Blue Hole is one of the top 77 Natural Wonders of the World and it is up for sale with the asking price of $24 million, according to the UK's Daily Mail newspaper.
