Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Peter Turnquest accompanied the president of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Louis Alberto Moreno, on a fact finding tour of Abaco yesterday.


The bank’s directors for the US, Canada, UK, the executive director for the Caribbean, The Bahamas director and the country manager also attended.

The team met with parliamentary secretary James Albury, local NEMA coordinator permanent secretary Jack Thompson.

The Bahamas celebrated the United Nations World Tourism Day, September 27, 2019, under the theme Tourism and Jobs — A Better Future For All. Watch a video of the Tourism Minister’s address here.

Grand Bahama Shipyard has announced that it dry-docked its first vessel since reopening the shipyard shortly after Hurricane Dorian hit The Bahamas last month.
