Israeli officials visited The Bahamas this week, meeting cabinet members and engaging in dicussions on furthering the relationship between the two nations.

Alon Lavi, Embassy of Israel Deputy Chief of Mission to Belize and The Bahamas paid a courtesy call to Minister of National Security Marvin Dames, as well as Minister of Tourism and Aviation Dionisio D’Aguilar.


Earlier this week two Israeli experts hosted a seminar in Nassau on renewable energy, educating local businesses on how to deal with the challenge of climbing energy prices.

Officials hope that further collaboration in agriculture and business development will prove mutually beneficial.

A complete overhaul of legislation governing The Bahamas’ investment funds industry is nearing completion, announced Christina Rolle, executive director of the Securities Commission of The Bahamas at the annual briefing for the Bahamian securities and investment funds industries earlier this month.

The Caribbean Association of Banks has announced its new Board of Directors for 2019, as it continues to build on its role as advocate for the region’s financial services sector.
