Minister of Social Services and Urban Development Lanisha Rolle is attending the Commonwealth Women’s Forum, being held alongside the 2018 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in London.

The forum provides the opportunity to focus on the Commonwealth’s progress toward gender equality and is being held under the theme: An empowered future for women and girls.

The forum will reflect on some of the global challenges still faced by women, as part of a wider commitment to “leave no one behind” in the Commonwealth journey to achieving gender equality by 2030.

The European Union Code of Conduct Group has officially recommended The Bahamas’ removal from the list of non-cooperative jurisdictions for tax purposes.

The Central Bank of The Bahamas, The Securities Commission of The Bahamas, The Insurance Commission of the Bahamas, and The Compliance Commission of The Bahamas have issued, for consultation, two draft guidance notes: Financial Crime Risk Management, and Proliferation and Proliferation Financing.
