Members of the Washington, DC Chamber of Commerce were hosted to a welcome networking reception at Luciano’s of Chicago on the first day of their trade mission to The Bahamas, which runs April 29-May 2, 2019.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Peter Turnquest gave a welcome address.

Charge d’Affaires of the US Embassy Stephanie Bowers and CEO of the Washington DC Chamber of Commerce, Vincent Orange were present.

The trade mission also made a courtesy call on Governor General Dame Marguerite Pindling on April 30, at Government House along with members of The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers’ Confederation.


Led by Sidney Collie, Ambassador of The Bahamas to the United States of America and Permanent Representative of The Bahamas to the Organization of American States (OAS), the US Trade Mission will attend business networking events and tours of various local sites while in New Providence.

The Central Bank of The Bahamas has released its 2018 Annual Report, which contains a summary of the bank's operations over the year, an analysis of regulatory developments affecting the financial sector and a review of monetary policy, as well as payment systems developments.

Landis+Gyr and Grand Bahama Power Co, a subsidiary of Emera Inc, have reached an agreement covering advanced metering and intelligent grid technology to support the utility's grid modernization strategy.
