President Barack Obama is nominating a former White House lawyer, Cassandra Butts (left), to be the next US ambassador to the Bahamas, according to ABC News.

Cable & Wireless Communications Plc (CWC) chief financial officer Tim Pennington is stepping down from the fixed and mobile broadband services provider, according to Bloomberg Businessweek. Pennington oversaw the reorganization, cutting expenses and brokering sales of businesses worldwide to focus on Latin America and markets in the Caribbean region, including The Bahamas.
