Nassau Airport Development Co (NAD) has released performance highlights from 2019 as it readies for growth and development at Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) in 2020 and beyond.

For the period ending December 31, 2019, passenger numbers grew across all sectors with a total of 4.1 million passengers moving through the three terminals at LPIA, up 11 per cent year on year. The attainment of four million passengers is a major milestone and a first for the airport.

Minister Dr Hubert Minnis delivered the Keynote Address at the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Caribbean Travel Marketplace at Baha Mar Convention Centre, January 21, 2020.

He told delegates that just months after Hurricane Dorian struck North Abaco and Cays and East Grand Bahama, The Bahamas is still open for business. And that, although New Providence and Paradise Island account for more than 70 per cent of the country’s population and more than 70 per cent of its GDP, those two account for less than 2 per cent of land mass.

During his address at the Baha Mar resort January 16, Rolle said the focus of his speech was on how the domestic financial sector should be viewed as a supportive force in supporting national recoveries for natural disasters.
