Prime Minister Dr Hubert Minnis met with UK Prime Minister Theresa May following the formal opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.


Minnis also convened a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, to discuss deepening relations and enhancing cooperation on areas of mutual interest.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Peter Turnquest said The Bahamas government is legislating to ensure that the country continues to meet international expectations for anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism.

A new survey from the Central Bank of The Bahamas, released this week, sheds light on how Bahamians bank - revealing that many are unhappy with current banking fees and charges.
