China, Bahamas celebrate 20 years of diplomacy

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has exchanged messages with Prime Minister of The Bahamas Hubert Minnis to celebrate the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

BEIJING, May 24 (Xinhua) — Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Wednesday exchanged messages with Prime Minister of The Bahamas Hubert Minnis to celebrate the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In his message, Li said since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and the Bahamas have enjoyed smooth development of bilateral ties, gradually deepened mutual political trust, gained remarkable achievements in pragmatic cooperation, and maintained communication and coordination in international and regional issues.


The Chinese side appreciates the Bahamas’ adherence to the one-China principle and is willing to make joint efforts with the Bahamas in promoting the two countries’ relations to new levels.

Noting the friendly relationship, frequent exchanges of high-profile visits and ever closer mutually beneficial cooperation between his country and China, Minnis said he expects the two countries to maintain and deepen their relations.
