All Bahamas airports close ahead of hurricane

The public is advised that as of 11am Wednesday, 5 October 2016, all airports in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas must be closed in the interest of the safety of the travelling public.

The public is advised that as of 11am Wednesday, 5 October 2016, all airports in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas must be closed in the interest of the safety of the travelling public.

The Department of Civil Aviation and the Airport Authority will advise the public of any changes and on the airport reopenings, as necessary.

More than 150 Bahamian high school students attended a basketball training session at Atlantis Paradise Island resort last week hosted by the Miami Heat.

Karolin Troubetzkoy, president of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association, has released a statement following the devastation caused by Hurricane Matthew in the region. Read the statement here.
