Lady Foulkes launches ship in Japan – photos

Duchess-of-CornwallLady Joan Foulkes launched the latest ship to be added to the Fleet of Campbell Shipping Company Ltd at the Shimanan Shipyard in Japan May 14.

Lady Foulkes christened the vessel with the words: “I name you Campbell Ship Jaden, and I pray that all who sail on you will do so with God’s blessings and in joy and good health.”

The ship will be registered in The Bahamas.

The C/S Jaden is a 38,000 dead weight tons dry bulk carrier constructed by Imabari Shipping at The Shimanan Shipyard in Japan.

Sir Arthur Foulkes accompanied Lady Foulkes for the launch.

They were the guests of Lowell Mortimer, president of Campbell Shipping, which has offices at Campbell Maritime Centre, West Bay Street.

The Ministry of Finance received draft legislation for widespread tax reform this week and says that it hopes to officially introduce the new VAT system by July 2014.

Freeport Container Port (FCP), which is part of Hutchison Port Holdings, has ordered 10 Terex NSC 634 E ECO straddle carriers from Terex Port Solutions with an option for an additional 12 machines. Operational from this month, the straddle carriers will be at the FCP terminal on Grand Bahama.
