Governor General Sir Arthur Foulkes swore in three Parliamentary Secretaries during an Appointment Ceremony at Government House May 14, 2012.

Anthony Moss, Member of Parliament-Elect, Exuma took the Oath of Office as Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Marine Resources and Local Government; Renward Wells, MP-Elect, Bamboo Town took the Oath as Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Works and Urban Development; and Cleola Hamilton, MP-Elect, South Beach as Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration.

Prime Minister Perry Christie was present at the event.

Christie told the Parliamentarians that they had been placed in their positions to help the Ministers in implementing the work that has been assigned to them and to also make the Ministers’ work easier.

He also noted that the swearing in of the Parliamentary Secretary marks the completion of the appointment of the Bahamas government’s executive team.

“We will now turn our attention to the Senatorial appointments and other appointments that fall within the purview of the Prime Minister, all with a view to completing this process, so that the entire country could be invited to focus on the way forward insofar as the implementation of the policies, strategies and initiatives,” Prime Minister Christie said.
